All For Him.

By Gracie DarDar

Scripture Text:

15Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Devotional:

When we think about our daily lives, we have lots of tasks to accomplish in one day. We work or attend school, have hobbies, take care of kids, visit family, cook dinner, and get a full nights rest to do it all over again. On top of that, as Christians it’s our responsibility to make time for Jesus a priority as well.

If you’re able to evaluate your life and put everything you do into percentages of how much time it consists of, what would it look like? For example, we spend probably about 30% of our lives sleeping, 30% to school or our jobs, and 40% on our relationships, activities, responsibilities and everything else you can think of.

Although we should always set aside time to spend quality time with God and read our Bibles, God can actually be involved in every percent of our lives. You can acknowledge his presence whether you’re washing the dishes or in a meeting at work. Change your mindset to - ‘God is washing the dishes with me’ and ‘God and I are in this meeting together’.

Acknowledging God throughout every task can bring you peace and contentment minute by minute. Bringing you more confidence, motivation and joy throughout the day. Instead of giving God a small percentage of your day, let him in it all.

Response/Prayer:

Lord thank you for being with me every moment of the day. I pray I learn to acknowledge your presence more often and that it leads to me becoming more fruitful not just for myself but for the people around me too. Help me make time for you in this busy life. Help me see you in everything. Thank you for your comfort and guidance. Amen
