Who Attend Believers' Chapel

Hi, My name is Cheryl. In 1997, after having attended several extended family funerals, I began wondering if there shouldn't be more to life. Was it really just a matter of living "x" number of years and then hoping and praying that God would have mercy on my soul and that I had been "good enough" to get into Heaven?
Then, I attended my first memorial service, a totally different experience from the funerals I had known. This family was not crying or hoping and begging God for their deceased father, this family KNEW he was in Heaven. In fact, everyone at the service knew that too. They knew the day and date that he had given his heart to Jesus and had his name written in the Book of Life. I wanted to know that too.
I studied Martin Luther and the Reformation and the Counter Reformation and the rules of many different churches and the beliefs of many denominations. I sought God and His truth with all my heart. That's when God made it clear to me that He wanted me in Heaven with Him even more than I hoped to one day be there. He made it clear there is only one way to Heaven, by accepting Jesus as my personal Savior and that was all I needed to do.
Even though I had believed in God and all the stories of the Bible all my life, I considered most of my belief historical; like believing in George Washington. It was a belief I knew in my head, but didn't really pay much attention to on a daily basis. Once I asked God to come into my heart and to be my personal Lord and Savior, my eyes were truly opened. I knew Him and His love and His truth like never before. The 11 years since that happened have been a wonderful, growing, peaceful and joy filled time. I am so grateful to God for finding me, for rescuing me, for calling me to Him and I pray that you, too, will invite Him to change your life.

My name is Jason. I do not remember a time in my life when I did not believe in God. Growing up in Pennsylvania, I attended church and heard sermons; but I never really got more involved than that.
Here in New York, in my twenties I decided to take a more in depth approach to Christianity. I read the Bible, got involved at Believers Chapel and devoted more time to study and prayer. This is when I truly felt a relationship with God develop and grow. This is when I started to see breakthroughs in my life.
Over the years, God has answered many prayers - but one really stands out. My wife and I have a son, who was born with a birth defect jeopardizing his ability to walk. Treatment includes surgeries and devices that must be worn. Our son was prayed over by many people at the Chapel. Every step of the treatment went excellent, even the surgeries. We couldn't ask for more. Our son is now 17 months old and he walks and runs as if he never had any problems with his legs. Thank God!
Building a relationship with God, learning to trust Him and believe in Him are actions that everyone needs to take. In turn He will take care of you.

My name is Elizabeth. I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home in the Philippines. My parents were active members of a local church in our hometown and I accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and Lord when I was 13 years old. Growing up and living in this Christian environment, I felt very secure until I moved to the United States where I worked after I graduated from college.
Having left my comfort zone, I found life in the U.S. different and challenging. I find myself in situations where I have to stand up for my faith and claim God's promise that I learned years ago: "I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me." God always comes thru for me and even led me to worship at Believers' Chapel. My family and I have been members of this church since 2001. I am blessed to be a part of the Chapel family and to have met a lot of wonderful people.

My name is Teresa. I have been attending Believers' Chapel since October of 2003. I grew up in a small, rural church with traditional services on Sunday mornings. I accepted Jesus when I was eight years old in my third grade Sunday School class. I continued to go to church with my family all the way through high school. When I went away to college, I occasionally went to a Catholic church service on campus with some friends. After college, I got married and moved to the Syracuse area.
When my daughter, Stephanie, was born, I really wanted her to grow up going to church. Four years later, my daughter, Alison, was born. I visited a couple small churches similar to my home church, but I just didn't feel connected. Stephanie had become friends with a neighbor's daughter, so I asked where they attended church. The answer was Believers' Chapel. The girls and I started going right away and we haven't looked back. We have been involved in many activities at the Chapel - there is so much to choose from! I love meeting all the kids and parents! My daughters both enjoy working in the nursery every week. We have been involved in the Upward Basketball and Cheerleading program in the past, both winter and summer camps.
The best part of coming to Believers' Chapel has been becoming part of a Small Group. The Chapel encourages everyone to get involved with one of the many groups that meet weekly for Bible study and fellowship. My neighbors who recommended the Chapel have a group in their home which my girls and I love to attend. I have found the most incredible, supportive friends! It is so amazing to know that not only is there a God who loves us, but He will give us exactly what we need and that often comes through people He places in our lives at just the right time.
I have learned so much since I first came to Believers' Chapel - about myself and about God. I am continuing to grow in my faith and planning my next steps in trusting Him. I have a long way to go, but I have good friends and a church family to help me get there!

Hi, My name is Clint. My parents came to know the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ through Believers’ Chapel, and then they began to share with us what a great place they had found, so my wife Terri and I decided to go and check it out. We came, we stayed, and we got connected; not only to God, but to friends and leaders who truly care for and love us. God has blessed my wife and I in so many ways at Believers’ Chapel. We have served in many areas of ministry. Serving others is where we found the most growth in the Lord, so I encourage everyone to get involved in a ministry, if you are really serious about what God has for you. God will turn your life into something new if you give it to Him. Both my wife and I now attend Believers’ School of Ministry (BSOM), we are being trained for the next milestone in life that God has for us.
