Why Do We Do Worship Music Like We Do?

  The most intimate of all the art forms is music.  It holds the power to externalize the internal, and to arouse feelings from sadness to extreme joy.  As stated earlier, worship originates from within, or from the affections of man.  Music is a powerful tool that is used as a vehicle to extract an emotional response that involves the mind and body.  Music, combined with biblical truth contained in the text, creates a worship experience that engages the human will to response to God.  Music is a beautiful gift of God, and as worship musicians, vocalists, and technicians, we must continually strive to prevent pride and selfish motives from polluting God’s intended purposes of music.
